Social Services
Social and counseling support is crucial for fostering hope and providing guidance to help families rise out of poverty. Our services include the physical, emotional, social, intellectual, and spiritual well-being of our caregivers.

Holistic Family Support

Counseling Support
When families face a crisis, our team provides compassionate counseling to help caregivers navigate fear, stress, and uncertainty. We come alongside parents and guardians, offering a safe space to process challenges and build resilience. Through ongoing encouragement and guidance, we help stabilize urgent needs and navigate immediate crises. As that burden lifts, caregivers are better able to recognize and respond to their children’s needs, creating a more stable and nurturing environment over time.

Nutrition & Health Skills
A significant number of families in our communities are led by women, including young mothers, grandmothers, and aunts who are caring for infants or children. These families often lack access to essential health and nutritional education. Kulea Villages programs focus on education in crucial life skills. This training includes lessons on: first aid, malnutrition, nutrition, pregnancy, sources of water, hygiene, fever in babies, breastfeeding, bottle preparation and feeding, disease prevention, family planning and developmental stages.

Needs Assessment
Kulea Villages social workers visit each home after referral to assess immediate and long-term needs. They prioritize crisis concerns first, often providing food immediately. This complete home assessment includes the family's diet, daily meals, medical needs, HIV and malaria history, home condition including beds, toilet & shower condition, formula storage, mosquito nets, current income sources, and the overall state of the primary caregiver. These steps spark the beginning of hope.

Grief Support
Many babies referred to Kulea Villages come after a loss, such as a mother's death during childbirth, a father's death, or abandonment. Sometimes, when we are helping families of multiples, one baby may pass away due to their fragility. Because we already know the family, we are able to provide comfort and ongoing support. Grief counselling can help reduce ongoing distress.

Abuse Support
Some women referred to Kulea Villages are living in or escaping abusive from situations, and for many, there is no clear way out. Our team helps them understand their rights under the law while prioritizing their immediate safety. By addressing both their safety and the loss of hope they often carry, caregivers are better able to move forward and begin making decisions that will support their children.

Spiritual Support
We are a Christian-based nonprofit, and we believe that faith provides the hope our supported families need. We seek to expand our network of partnerships with local religious communities. Additionally, we collaborate with several churches worldwide for financial and mission support.
