Kulea Villages takes the responsibility of funding distribution very seriously and we are proud of the fiscal responsibility we have maintained while upholding our mission to care for orphans and vulnerable children in Kenya and Tanzania.

🤝 Collaborative Budgeting
Each year, Kulea USA’s Board and Executive Director work with the Country Directors to build a global budget and set the operational priorities for the year.​

đź“Š Planned Distributions
Before funds are sent to Africa each quarter, a clear breakdown of expected distributions in the recipient locations is provided. Bookkeepers in each country track expenses against the approved budget and report to the USA bookkeeper.​

🔍 Monthly Reconciliation
Each month, the U.S. team reconciles distributions based on financial reports showing actual use of funds in each African country. This ensures transparency, accuracy, and alignment with the approved budget.

🌿 On-the-Ground Oversight
The Country Directors monitor operations, evaluate program impact and ensure, with the Executive Director, funds are properly distributed.

Strong financial policies guide every decision. Expenses outside the approved budget and major project distributions require formal approval, ensuring accountability. In the U.S., every donation check received is seen by both a board member and the bookkeeper, providing an added layer of oversight.
