5.6 MILLION REASONS TO
volunteer
VOLUNTEERS SERVE in MANY WAYS
We owe so much to all who have served God through this ministry since 2009, especially the founding board of 7 ladies (pictured). The Kulea Childcare Villages Bylaws require a minimum of 5 members for the USA Board of Directors. The members set policies, create long and short-term strategic plans, oversee financial management and have a big-picture view as they guide the organization and assist the Executive Director. A strong Board has members with some expertise in finance,, marketing, non-profit management, international development, project management, communications or business.

Qualifications of Board members include:
1. A Christian, active in a local church
2. Has a heart for missions or for helping orphans
3. Sponsors a Kulea child and donates to major funding campaigns
5. Possesses the computer skills necessary to independently access online meetings and organizational documents (on Google Drive & Dropbox)
6. Can meet monthly (2 - 4 hours) and annually for a strategic planning retreat
7. Prioritizes Board service above other ministry commitments

Our volunteers have helped us in so many ways over the years. We have areas in which we need volunteers often. Volunteers have helped us from their home and in person at events. They have planned fundraising events and assisted during events, put together large mailings, collected raffle or auction items, printed and mailed monthly thank you notes, created social media posts, researched grants, helped write grant requests, "manned a sponsorship table" when we speak at a church or event and more.

Is God calling you to help us through volunteering? We would love to hear from you and share what needs we currently have. Please email Tahrea Smith for more information on volunteering in the United States. tahrea@kuleavillages.org

Is God calling you to serve Him in East Africa? You are welcome to come and work with us in Kenya or Tanzania.

We also welcome church hosted short-term volunteer teams to help us with a variety of projects depending on the year.

Visiting Africa is not easy and a trip here will be physically tough in many ways. We will help to prepare you thoroughly as to what to expect in terms of type of accommodations, language, currency, etc.
Please contact our Executive Director for more information about visiting Africa with Kulea Villages. deborah@kuleavillages.org
