Kulea Villages is a Christian non-profit organization on a mission to equip families in Kenya & Tanzania with the skills needed to care for orphans and vulnerable babies and children at home.
We support babies & children!
Through Child Sponsorship, we cover school fees until a child's parent or caregiver can. We also provide crisis support, depending on the child's situation and need. Our social workers check frequently on the condition of each child, his/her caregiver and the home environment. Then we customize our support based on needs. Our goal is to keep sponsored children with a family member even if mom has died and to provide crisis support and education until the caregiver can.

In the Maisha Matters program, babies are referred to Kulea Villages for formula support. Weekly we check and weigh all babies and teach preventive health lessons (hygiene, disease, first aid & nutrition) to caregivers. In addition we mitigate various areas of crisis through support (food parcels, mattress, rent support, etc.)
In our Child Sponsorship program, social workers determine when a caregiver is ready for business training. Once a baby in our Maisha Matters program is stable and no longer mal-nourished we begin business training for the caregiver. Upon completion of our business training we help the caregiver set up a small business by an initial investment for things like charcoal to sell, soap making supplies, etc. Our social workers then check on the business a week later, two weeks later, and so on to support the new business owner.
