Meet The Team

Tahrea Smith

             ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

Tahrea is a part-time employee in Texas focusing most of her time on Sponsorship coordination and communication. Tahrea has a passion for the work God is doing in East Africa through Kulea Villages. She is learning how to edit and manage our website, navigate through our CRM, Go Sponsor It, and assists the Executive Director with many other administrative tasks -- it's never boring!

Leigh Mura

BOOKKEEPER 

Leigh is another committed, part-time Kulea staff member who helps to keep the organization focused by tracking funds raised, distributing funds to Africa, and confirming expenditures paid by our partner NGOs. She also helps our Board of Directors by providing an excellent  monthly report (profit and loss) and year-end financial statements.

Romy Mtenda

ICOUNTRY DIRECTOR, TANZANIA

Romy is the Pastor of Chalinze Baptist Church and the Co-Founder of Kulea Tanzania. In late 2007, he & his wife opened the doors of their home to 4 orphans and that was the beginning of what later became the first Kulea Home. Our founder invited them to join her in starting Kulea Villages in late 2009, along with Pastors Dalmas Nzai and Harre Banks in Kenya and by 2011, Kulea Tanzania was in operation. Romy leads his church with integrity and passion, reaching the community through outreach.

Abreack Kisimikwe

 CARETAKER, TANZANIA 

Abreck was hired in 2012 to live on the 75 acres owned by Kulea for security and to work the land, called Ubazi Village. He has helped in all phases of our well digging project, cleared the borders of the property and planted large fields of millet. What he brings to Kulea is a motivation to work hard and to help wherever needed.  

Dalmas Nzai

COUNTRY DIRECTOR, KENYA

Dalmas is a Pastor of Manna Bible Church in Likoni, Kenya. He is a Co-founder of Kulea Kenya and is directs our orperations in Kenya. Dalmas is also a teacher and founder of At the Feet of Jesus School of Theology. Throughout his ministry, Dalmas has always had a great desire to help orphans and street children. One ministry at his church is HIlltop School, providing food and education to over 100 preschool children. Together with the Kulea Kenya Board of Directors, Dalmas dreams of purchasing property for the first Kulea School in Kenya.

Hellen Wahome

BOOKEEPER & BOARD TREASURER

Hellen, or "Mama Steve" has been with Kulea Kenya since the start.

She currently works as an accounts assistant at Pistis Insurance Brokers Ltd and  in Women’s ministry at the Manna Bible Church. Hellen has a strong desire to train both mothers and young ladies on the values and blessings of living a God fearing life.She brings to the organization her skills as an accountant as well as a passion to help vulnerable children. Mama Steve works with the Chairman and Country Director to receive and distribute funds, and she reconciles all expenditures and prepares reports for the US Board of Directors.
